CNG stations to stay open 24hs for smooth Eid travel

CNG refueling stations across the country will remain open for 24 hours from October 1 for smooth journey of home-bound people during the Eid-ul-Azha.

The stations will provide services round the clock from October 1 to 11, said Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

The minister was talking to media after a meeting with the deputy commissioners (DC) of Dhaka and its adjoining districts at Ramna Restaurant in Dhaka this afternoon.

The minister asked the DCs to remain careful so that the holidaymakers face no traffic congestion during their journey.

Usually, CNG filling stations remain closed for four hours from 5:00pm everyday for the shortage of gas supply amid fast depletion of current reserves.

There are 585 CNG stations across the country, consuming 5 percent of the daily production of about 2,300 million cubic feet of gas, according to Petrobangla.
