Jubo League leader shot dead in Laxmipur
A union-level leader of Jubo League was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Laxmipur Sadar upazila early today.
The deceased was identified as Arifur Rahman Farhad, general secretary of Bangakhan union unit of the ruling Awami League's youth wing.
Unknown people shot Farhad to death when he went out of his Mirikpur house after receiving a phone call, said Farhad's father Nurul Amin Master said.
Then the miscreants left his body inside a saw mill at Mirikpur Bazar, the father added.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Mohammad Nasim Miah, assistant superintendent of police in (Laxmipur circle) confirmed the incident.
The killing might have occurred following a previous enmity, the ASP said.
