Ctg arson victim dies at DMCH
A small trader, who was burnt in a petrol bomb attack, allegedly by hartal supporters in February, died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital this afternoon.
Suvash Shom, 56, succumbed to his injuries at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of DMCH around 12pm, said inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of the hospital’s police outpost.
Eight people including Shom were injured when pickets firebombed a minibus in Tiger Pass area of Chittagong city in the wee hours of February 19.
Shom was shifted to the DMCH from Chittagong Medical College Hospital with 25 percent burn injuries on the same day.
At least 84 people have been killed so far, of which 53 in arson and firebomb attacks, in the mindless violence that has ensued since the non-stop nationwide blockade enforced by the BNP-led-20 party alliance since January 6.
