DFID top official in Dhaka

Mark Lowcock, UK Permanent Secretary for Department for International Development (DFID), arrived in Dhaka today on a two-day official visit.

He will be observing UKaid's contribution to growth and poverty reduction in Bangladesh during his stay, a press release issued by the British High Commission said.

This is his second visit to Bangladesh.

During stay, he will discuss development with a wide range of people, including top government officials, partners, beneficiaries, youth leaders and the business community.

He will also share views on how UKaid can help Bangladesh bring down poverty and achieve its ambition to become a middle-income country, the release read.
