‘Robber’ killed in clash with Faridpur cops
An alleged robber was killed during a clash with police in Alfadanga upazila of Faridpur early today.
Muktar, 30, was hit by a bullet shot by his cohorts during the clash and died on the spot, said Jamil Hassan, superintendent of police (SP) in Faridpur.
The deceased was accused in a number of cases, our Faridpur correspondent reports quoting the SP.
Police conducted a drive at Joydebpur village in the upazila after receiving information that a gang of bandits gathered there to commit a robbery.
Sensing presence of the law enforcers, the robbers swooped on them triggering a clash, the SP said.
Muktar came in the line of fire and died on the spot when the robbers opened fire targeting the team, he added.
