Violence decreasing: IGP

AKM Shahidul Hoque

Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque today said incidents of sabotage have been on the decrease due to police actions.

"The incidents of anarchy across the country will be zero in the days to come as people don't support violence and that no activity can continue without public support," he said while inaugurating Nawpara Highway Police Station in Jessore as the chief guest.

"More highway police stations and camps will be set up to save the transport sector as it is the worst victim of violence," he also said.

The police chief called upon the transport workers to come forward to help highway police put an end to the violence.

Among others, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of police of Khulna range Moniruzzaman, were present on the occasion.
