One of the latest sensations in the music industry, JOY SHAHRIAR, is sometimes termed as the go-getter. Popular for his easy flowing tunes and words of love, Joy has touched the hearts of many youngsters in the country. In his latest album 'Thik Ebhabei' he reflects the urban Dhaka life in his lyrics, and sings of people, relationships and of course, young love.
Independence Day, being one of his favourite national holidays, Joy speaks to the Star Weekend about the patriotic song that he hums always, his inspirations, his workstation and his memorable piece of work.
What is the one thing that you like to do on Independence Day every year?
Hanging the national flag at my workstation.
What are the three things you would take with you to a deserted island?
A guitar, writing pad and a laptop, that would run on solar power. My laptop would be filled with movies and music of course.
If you were given a chance to sing in any hall / venue in the world, where would you do so?
Madison Square Garden.
What is your favourite midnight snack?
Coffee with jhal chanachur.
How do you feel after singing a fresh, new song?
I feel a strange sense of accomplishment and also rediscover life in all its beauty.
