Manju gets backing for Ctg city polls

Chattagram Unnayan Andolon, a platform of pro-BNP professionals, has extended its support to Manjur Alam for the mayoral race in the upcoming Chittagong City Corporation elections.

Manju, incumbent mayor of the port city and an adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, will run in the mayoral race, said Abul Kalam Azad, an economics professor at Chittagong University.

The professor was addressing a press conference at GEC Convention Hall in Chittagong this evening, reports our local correspondent.

Abul Kalam, on behalf of Manju, also sought support from the people.

The teacher expressed hopes that Manju, like the previous term when they backed him, will again win in the polls scheduled for April 28.
