PM inaugurates Mawna Flyover
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today inaugurated the much-awaited 450-metre Mawna flyover on Dhaka Mymensingh highway through unveiling its plaque.
The flyover was constructed aiming to reduce public sufferings at Mawna point on the highway.
Country's leading construction firm Abdul Monem Limited constructed the flyover under the supervision of the 17 ECB of Bangladesh Army.
The work on the flyover with 450-metre approach road was completed in about two years, three months ahead of the stipulated time, at a cost of Taka 70 crore.
It is situated at Mawna intersection under Sreepur upazila, 60 kilometres off the capital.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Army Chief General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan, local MP Jahid Ahsan Russel and Meher Afroze Chumki were, among others, present.
