Law minister gets death threat
It is now Law Minister Anisul Huq who has received death threats after his cabinet colleague, the education minister, received the same.
The threat came from the Kawsar Ahmed, involved with Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student affiliate of Jamaat-e-Islami, a ministry press release said today.
The press release, signed by Abdulanda-al-Shaheen, senior information officer of the law ministry, said Kawsar is now an expatriate living in Bahrain.
Kawsar, a local from law minister’s ancestral home in Brahmanbaria, said to have issued the death threat through his Facebook page.
A case has been lodged with local Cosba Police Station in this regard, filed by a local unit pro-ruling party Bangladesh Chhatra League activist.
Earlier, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid received death threats via text message on his mobile phone from an unknown number last Wednesday.
A general diary was filed with the Ramna Police Station in this connection on Thurday.
