First encounters
Bangladesh and Pakistan met on any cricket field for the first time in 1986 when they played in the John Player Gold Leaf Trophy, which later took the name ‘Asia Cup’, at Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. In the multilateral one day international (ODI) match, Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets.

First Bilateral ODI Match:
The first bilateral one-day international match between Bangladesh and Pakistan was held on March 16, 1999 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka. Pakistan won the match by 152 runs.
First bilateral ODI series
The first bilateral one-day international series took place in Bangladesh in the year 2002. Three matches were played and Bangladesh lost the series 3-0.
First T20 match
Bangladesh’s first T20 match against Pakistan took place during the Twenty20 Quadrangular tournament in Kenya where Pakistan won the match by 30 runs.
First Test match
The first test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan took place in the year 2001 at Multan during the Asian Test Championship multilateral series. Bangladesh lost the match by an innings and 264 runs.

First bilateral Test series
The first bilateral test series took place during Pakistan’s tour of Bangladesh in 2002. Bangladesh lost the first test match of the series at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at Dhaka by an innings and 178 runs.
