Jamaat man killed in Pabna

Unidentified gunmen today hacked and shot a Jamaat-e-Islami activist to death this evening.

The deceased was identified as Shariful Islam, 45, of Char Banarampur village of Pabna Sadar Upazila, reports our district correspondent, quoting Abu Sayeed, chairman of Bharara union.

Shariful was a teacher of Char Banarampur Dakhil Madrassa and member of Bharara union committee of Jamaat, the UP chairman confirmed.

Also a former UP member, he came under attack at Char Banarampur School playground around 9:30pm while watching the Bangladesh-Pakistan cricket match, Abu Sayeed said.
