360Fly, a company that makes immersive cameras that shoot in all directions, released a look from inside the cockpit of an F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet launching off the deck of the USS Harry S. Truman on February 11. The Navy then shared the video on Facebook last week, where it's racked up more than 1.5 million views.
Launching off a carrier is a bit different than taking off from land. Since a carrier deck has a much shorter runway, the Navy uses steam-powered catapults that can take a plane from 0 to 165 mph in less than two seconds.
