APP REVIEW

Neko Atsume

Platforms: Android, iOS

Neko Atsume is an app where you can collect cats and let them play in your virtual garden by giving them food. In return for giving them food, they give you "sardines" which are the in game currency required to buy items, furniture and more food to attract even more cats.

The art style of Neko Atsume is probably its biggest selling point. You can watch these cute cats do nothing for hours, even though it is highly recommended to not do that. Cat people are sure to love this game, because they are not able to like anything else other than cats. There are over 49 cats, with 17 "rare cats" that appear when specific conditions are met.

There is no end to the game as long as cats are fed. The game is free, with the sardines being the only in-app purchases. As for a final word, I suggest giving it a go. It's not one of those games that ask for a lot of time and input, you only need to check on it a few times a day. In fact, the game was created so that children do not have to invest too much skill or time. With that in mind, don't waste effort on this, it's enjoyable as a look and see game.
