Anamul lifts South Zone
Opener Anamul Haque continued his run-spree and put Prime Bank South Zone in the driving seat against BCB North Zone in the Bangladesh Cricket League match at the end of the third day at Fatullah yesterday.
The right-hander, who scored 94 runs in the first innings on his return after a shoulder operation, remained not out on 96 and veteran Tushar Imran accompanied him with 48 as South finished the day's play at 213 for 2 to stretch their lead to 330 runs.
During his unbeaten 96, Anamul hit ten fours and two sixes.
Resuming the day on 161 for 5, North Zone managed to add 74 runs to their overnight score before being dismissed for 235 runs. Naeem Islam could add only two runs to his overnight score of 42 and was top scorer for his side.
Pacer Al-Amin Hossain and left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak combined to shatter North Zone's first innings, with the bowlers picking up four wickets each.
