Govt urges citizens not to visit Syria on security grounds

Amid serious deterioration of security situation, Bangladesh government has urged its citizens not to undertake any visit to Syria.

"Bangladesh nationals are strongly advised not to undertake any visit to Syria in view of the ongoing violent conflict and prevailing extremely dangerous security situation," said a foreign ministry press release yesterday.

It said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring the situation and further requesting Bangladesh nationals to refrain from visiting Syria until further notification in this regard.
