BCL men threaten presiding officer at DU centre

The activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of the ruling party, Awami League, threatened a presiding officer for barring them from entering a polling centre in Dhaka University area today.

“The BCL leaders at Dhaka University threatened me over phone,” said Abdul Matin, the presiding officer of Udayan High School centre around 12:45pm.

“They asked whether I will let them stuff votes in favour of their candidates or they will forcefully do it,” he told The Daily Star.

Of the total 2,031 voters at the centre, only 353 casted their votes till this report was filed at 12:30pm.
