Forty policemen, including two officers-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Model Police Station in Chapainawabganj town, fell sick after having lunch on Monday.

Golam Sarwar, officer-in-charge (investigation), said a daylong workshop was held at the police station on the day, in which 40 policemen participated. 

At noon, the policemen were given packet lunch from local Alauddin Hotel. In the evening, all of them started vomiting and got diarrhea. 
Six of the policemen, including one sub-inspector and three women constables, were admitted to Chapainawabganj Adhunik Sadar Hospital, while the rest given first aid.

Dr Benzir Ahmed, acting resident medical officer (RMO) of Sadar Hospital, said the cops fell sick after having poisonous food. 

Sub-Inspector Abdus Sabur, duty officer of the police station, said they detained six people, including the owner of the hotel, for quizzing yesterday.
