Tamim narrowly misses it
Tamim Iqbal couldn't become the highest run-getter for Bangladesh in test matches during the fourth day of the 2nd test against Pakistan at Mirpur today.
Tamim was out for 42, missing Habibul Bashar's record of 3026 runs in 50 matches by only seven runs.
The southpaw from Chittagong chased a wide delivery from Imran without moving his feet and paid the ultimate price for his ill-timed recklessness.
Had Tamim crossed Bashar's mark, he would have done it in only 39 test matches.
Tamim has the most hundreds (seven) for Bangladesh and averages over 40 in test matches.
Tamim smashed his highest score of 206 and his first double ton during the first test at Khulna and was instrumental in the highest partnership of 312 runs with Imrul Kayes as well.
