War crimes charges pressed against 5 Kishoreganj suspects
Prosecution today pressed seven charges against five Kishoreganj war crimes suspects for their alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the country’s Liberation War.
According to the prosecution, the five suspects were involved in mass killing, killing, torture, looting and confinement in 1971.
The suspects are: Gazi Abdul Manna, Nasiruddin Ahmed, Shamsuddin Ahmed, Hafiz Uddin and Azharul Islam.
Among the five, Shamsuddin is now behind the bar while others remain absconding.
The prosecution submitted the charges to the registrar office today.
After it was placed before the International Crimes Tribunal-1, the court fixed May 13 to decide whether it will accept the charges.
