‘None killed, so it’s fair,’ Raushan says on city polls
Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Raushan Ershad today termed “fair” the recently held Dhaka and Chittagong city elections as no killing took place during the race.
“The elections can be termed fair as no incidents of murder occurred and no one was killed,” Raushan, also a senior presidium member of Jatiya Party, said when a journalist asked if the elections were held in a free and fair manner.
She was speaking at a views-exchange meeting with journalists at the Jatiya Sangsad Media Centre in Dhaka.
On the defeat of her party-backed mayoral candidates in the three city corporation elections, Raushan blamed lack of campaigns in compare to their rivals.
When her attention was drawn about complaints by two JP-backed aspirants in Dhaka city, she said, “The defeated candidates use to make such complaints.”
