Chef Tazammul Throws Down The Gauntlet
This week's episode of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef 2015 is yet another “jadoor baksho” challenge. However, after tensions reached its peak in the last episode, this week every participant knows that they have something to prove. Furthermore, with only two safe zone spots up for grabs, at such a crucial juncture, everyone will be keen to avoid the “tike-thakar-lorai”. This week's battle for survival will be much harder than any previous round. But we will get into that in a bit. First, let's talk about what happened last week.
During the team challenge last week, all were quick to mention that Farzina, who had won her last team the challenge based on her expertise in Italian cuisine, was overlooked by the very same team members who she helped, all because she had cut her hand. Her wounds were quite deep and thus perhaps her former teammates were not sure whether she was up for the challenge. While a logical conclusion to be reached, it became a matter of loyalty. However, despite the wound, Farzina performed spectacularly and was adjudged the best in her team. Unfortunately, the grueling competition does take at its toll and Marufa and Farzina both had to drop out of the competition. Some may call it a conspiracy whilst others will take what they have been given. But as Navid said, this competition was survival of the fittest and perhaps that may be the best explanation for what happened.
With Farzina and Marufa gone, all the participants know that they now have to compete sans two of the biggest challengers. But that does not mean that elimination is out of the question. This week's mystery box will have two prawns as the main ingredient. Sakib, the maverick participant, is determined to reach the safe zone but it is not going to be easy. Nadim and Umme Kulsum too will be vying for a spot on the safe zone while many believe that Jebunessa will make the cut as she has made a habit of doing. Those that fail to reach the safe zone will then have to pass the challenge which will be set by none other than the no-holds-barred executive chef of Watercress, Chef Tazammul Tarek. The man that never smiles will prepare pasta using dried fish, something perhaps none of the participants have done before. Who will stand remain and who will not? Tune into ntv tonight at 9pm to find out. You will get all information at www.thedhakafoodies.com, in the coming weeks.
