Schoolteacher gets life for raping 5-yr-old student

A Dhaka court today sentenced a schoolteacher to life term imprisonment for raping his five-year-old student in March last year.

The convict is Minhaj Uddin, a teacher of Holy Crescent School and College in Mirpur of the capital.

Judge Tanjina Ismail of the Fifth Special Tribunal for Prevention of Women and Children Repression handed down the verdict with the teacher in the dock.

According to the prosecution, Minhaj raped the minor girl on March 11, 2014.
