Land deal ratification a success of govt: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said Land Boundary Agreement ratification, which has been unanimously passed by the Indian parliament, is a political and diplomatic success of the Awami League government.

“No third party was required in implementing the agreement. We have solved the longstanding issue through bilateral discussions,” the PM said at a reception organised for her by Citizens’ Committee.

Noted poet Syed Shamsul Haque chaired the function at the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka this afternoon.

“Bangladesh is no more a bottomless basket. Now the baskets of Bangladesh are filled with various developments. Bangladesh is a role model of development in the world,” said the premier.

“The target of our government is making the regional connectivity to build a developed nation,” said Hasina, also president of the ruling Awami League.
