Rubel Hossain back for India Test
Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the 14-man squad for the Test match against India set to begin from June 10, 2015 at Fatullah Stadium.
Chief selector Faruque Ahmed announced the squad at the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s office at Mirpur, reports our correspondent.
Pacer Rubel Hossain, who was ruled out of the second Test against Pakistan due to a side-strain, has returned to the squad and has replaced Shahadat Hossain.
The rest of the squad remained unchanged.
Faruque hopes the Tigers can draw the lone Test in Fatullah due to begin one June 10.
“There is variety in out bowling attack. We have a leg-spinner, left-arm spinners and an off-spinner. Jubair [Hossain Likhon] was recommended by both the captain and the coach. Hopefully he can do well,” said Faruque.
When asked if he felt that the current bowling attack would be able to take 20 wickets in a Test Faruque said, “ At Test level we haven’t achieved that yet.
If I were to say that our bowlers will be able to take 20 wickets on a flat Fatullah track, then that would not be practical.
“I believe that at this point of time, if we can avoid a defeat at home, that will be a good. In ODIs that’s a different case,” he added.
Bangladesh Squad: Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Litton Kumar, Mominul Haque, Md. Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Shuvagata Hom, Taijul Islam, Jubair Likhon, Rubel Hossain, Abul Hasan and Md. Shahid.
