Swagota turns director

Popular actress-singer Zinat Sanu Swagota turned director with an experimental film titled “Durotto”, which she has recently made for her university thesis. Swagota will submit the film as part of her Honours course in the Film and Media Department of Stamford University.

“Durotto” casts Syed Hasan Imam, Laila Hasan, Dilara Zaman, Shyamol Mowla, Tamanna Tasmeem and others. Apart from directing the film, Swagota has also written the screenplay for it.

Swagota said, “Direction is quite a tough job. The actors of this film helped me a lot and without their inspiration and assistance it would not have seen the light.”

In 2008, Swagota did her Honours in music from Rabindra Bharati University in Kolkata, India. Though she is not regular as a singer, many of her single episode plays and drama serials are going on air on different channels.
