This year, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor faced some tough competition from Katrina Kaif who made her debut on the red carpet at the French Riviera.

Although these headline Bollywood actresses are not connected to the movies or the films being showcased in any way, they attend the program as brand ambassadors of Loreal.

Its understandable that they aren't as big a deal at Cannes as they are in the Indian Subcontinent. And in the midst of international stars, it's difficult for people to really focus on anyone in particular.
