Bangladeshi worker dies after falling from crane in Saudi Arabia

A Bangladeshi expat worker has died after falling from a crane in Saudi Arabia.

The deceased was identified as Md Sheikh Farid Arju (25), son of Md Abdul Halim of Char Hajari union under Companiganj upazila in Noakhali district.

The accident took place around 12:00pm (local time) on Saturday while Farid was doing electrical work in Al Duwadimi of Riyadh, our Noakhali correspondent reports quoting Abul Khair Sabuj, member and panel chairman of Char Hajari union.

Quoting the victim's family, UP member Sabuj said that Farid went to Saudi Arabia a year ago. Like every day, he went to his work station and was doing his job. He suffered serious injuries when he fell from the crane around noon yesterday.

Locals took him to a hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead, Sabuj added.
