Bangladesh requests code sharing between Air Canada and Biman
Bangladesh has requested Canada to increase air connectivity between the two countries through code sharing of Air Canada and other international airlines with Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Air Vice Marshal Mafidur Rahman, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, made the request while meeting with Lilly Nicholls, the high commissioner of Canada at the former's office in Kurmitola yesterday.
During the meeting, the CAAB chairman also called upon the envoy for her country's permission to Biman to take passengers from Turkey, which is the stopover point of the Dhaka-Toronto flights.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines at present operates two flights weekly to Toronto with the short stopover in Turkey to take fuel.
The Canadian high commissioner assured the CAAB chairman of providing the highest assistance in this regard.
During the meeting, mutual cooperation and communication between the countries' aviation sectors was discussed along with strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
Areas of investment by Canada in the development of aviation sector infrastructure as well as training and technical assistance were discussed in continuation of the development of relations.
