Biman flight returns from Abu Dhabi with 120 passengers after fixing technical glitch
After remaining stranded for several hours due to technical glitch, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight finally landed at the Dhaka airport today morning from Abu Dhabi with 120 passengers on board.
The special ferry flight left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for Abu Dhabi at midnight on Monday.
There were no passengers on the flight. The flight operated to bring back Bangladeshis from Abu Dhabi.
The Boeing 737 was scheduled to depart Abu Dhabi for Dhaka on Monday at 5.45 am local time.
However, the flight was suspended due to a technical glitch just before take-off.
Necessary spare parts were sent on an Air Arabia flight on the same night.
The stranded passengers were kept at the hotel while the glitch was fixed, said Tahera Khondoker.
The flight finally took off around midnight today from Dubai and landed safely in Dhaka Airport at 8:13 am, Tahera Khondoker, deputy general manager, public relations, Biman Bangladesh Airlines, told The Daily Star.
