‘It happened due to negligence’

State Minister for Civil Aviation Md Mahbub Ali yesterday said the collision between two aircraft of Biman on July 3 was due to negligence.

He said the ministry is investigating the incident.

Mahbub said this while talking to reporters following his surprise visit to the aircraft hangar and GEC department of Biman at Dhaka airport.

He also said four people have already been suspended in this regard.

Civil Aviation Secretary Md Mokammel Hossain said, "It [the incident] was nothing but a crime. Stern actions will be taken against those involved."

"If another incident like this happens, it will be the end of Biman," he said.
