File complaints if harassed at airport, Shahriar Alam to Bangladeshi expats in Portugal
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam has advised Bangladeshi expatriates to file written complaints if they face any kind of harassment at the airport while travelling to and from Bangladesh.
The state minister, now on a five-day official visit in Portugal, was speaking as the chief guest at a programme organised by the Portugal Awami League, in Lisbon, on Friday afternoon.

The junior minister also referred to the contribution of expatriate Bangladeshis in Portugal, and the existing strong relations people between the two countries.
He also requested the Portugal government to open an embassy in Dhaka and give more opportunities to Bangladeshi students in Portuguese universities.
He mentioned various initiatives to highlight Bangladesh, including the construction of the permanent Shaheed Minar and a mural of Bangabandhu in Lisbon.
At the programme, speakers highlighted various problems of expatriates, especially harassment at airports in Bangladesh and difficulties in obtaining passports.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Portugal Tariq Ahsan, among others, was present at the meeting.
