OBHAI brings emergency transport services in Dhaka for healthcare workers, patients
Ride-sharing service OBHAI has launched special travel arrangements "OBHAI Sheba" to commute healthcare workers and patients to hospitals or healthcare centres amidst the current Covid-19 crisis.
OBHAI came up with the emergency transport service at a time when many people are failing to receive medical treatment due to a lack of safe means of transportation.
"The ride sharing company has now taken part in the fight against coronavirus with its own manpower and vehicles," says a press release issued in this regard.
With a green signal from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the emergency service is being operated through cars and CNG, while maintaining maximum health safety precautions, according to the release.
OBHAI is providing hand sanitisers, tissues, etc in their vehicles for the safety of the passengers and drivers. For extended safety, OBHAI drivers are using masks, face shields and gloves. As a precautionary measure, the driver will disinfect the vehicle each time after a ride. OBHAI provides special training and disinfectant to the drivers, the release added.
In order to avail the service, passengers can book a ride by means of a booking form available on OBHAI's Facebook and Instagram pages, or calling the call center number 16633, or on WhatsApp (+8801313037546). Passengers can book the ride at least 1 hour to 24 hours prior to taking the ride.
OBHAI Sheba will initially operate only in Dhaka Metropolitan Area, but it has plans of expanding to Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Jashore, Bogra, among others.
