Authorities of a zoo in Czech Republic failed to notice the pregnancy of a gorilla until she gave birth to a baby!

Shinda, a 24-year-old gorilla in the Prague Zoo, gave birth to a baby recently after her pregnancy went unnoticed by the zoo authorities!

Although the zookeepers noticed that the gorilla had been putting on some weight over the past few months, they did not think anything of it until Shinda gave birth to the baby on April 23, 2016, reports Mashable.

Earlier, Shinda had been pregnant several times, but every time the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, which led the officials think that it was no longer possible for Shinda to conceive.

The baby gorilla's birth, therefore, caught them by total surprise!

"It seems that a miracle happens from time to time," Zoo Director Miroslav Bobek said in a statement.

The baby is healthy and visibly an adorable one, reports Mashable.
