3 ‘robbers’ beaten dead in Ctg

Three alleged robbers were beaten to death by a mob in Fatikchhari upazila of Chittagong today, police said.

One of the deceased was identified as Md Osman, 35, Mohammad Mofiz, officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station, told our Chittagong correspondent.

Locals recovered two firearms from the alleged robbers, he added.

Eyewitnesses said the trio was committing robbery at a house in Karbala village.

Sensing the incident, one of the neighbours informed others and surrounded the house, they added.

The locals caught them and gave them a mass beating that left the three spot dead, witnesses said.
