Ctg arson victim dies
An auto-rickshaw driver, who suffered burn injuries when pro-hartal activists firebombed his vehicle in Hathazari upazila of Chittagong on March 4, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) this morning.
Saber Ahmed, 32, succumbed to his injuries around 8:30am in the burn unit of CMCH, said Mohammad S Khaled, a physician of the hospital.
The victim suffered 45 percent burn injuries in the fire which also damaged his respiratory organs, our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting the doctor.
The CNG-run three-wheeler came under the attack at Charia Madrasa when it was returning after refueling his vehicle, leaving the driver and a passenger injured.
Saber and the passenger, Ranjit Nath, were rushed to the CMCH where Ranjit immediately succumbed to his injuries.
So far, the blockade and hartal has already claimed 84 lives, of which 67 people had no affiliation with any political party, according to The Daily Star reports.
