Shubash Bose’s driver the ‘oldest’ man alive
The late Indian freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose’s driver Colonel Nizamuddin has made headlines by opening a bank account at the ripe old age of 116-years, reports Times of India.
According to Colonel Nizamuddin alias Saifuddin's voter identity card and passport, which he had to produce as proof of identity before the State bank of India (SBI) to open an account, his birth date is listed as the year 1900, according to an ANI report published by ToI.
In February, a Japanese man, who was believed to be the oldest man alive, passed away at the age of 114, according to the report.
This makes Colonel Nizamuddin the oldest human being alive on the planet now, as he completed 116-years 3 months and 14 days today.
The wife of Colonel, Ajbunisha, is 107 years old and the couple has opened a joint account with SBI.
Locals and the district administration were delighted to know about Colonel Nizamuddin’s amazing feat of being the oldest man alive. They are, infact, proud of the fact that such an elderly person is part of their neighbourhood.
