2 members of banned outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team held in Jashore

Police have arrested two alleged members of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team from a madrasa in Jhikargachha upazila of Jashore.

The arrestees are:  Ataur Rahman, 27, of Amtali village in Tongibari upazila of Munshiganj, and Md Mozahidul Islam, 22, of Islampur Deepchar in Gopalgonj Sadar upazila, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting police.

Tipped off that some members of the banned outfit were planning and organising anti-government activities and raising funds at Markazul Hunafa Al-Muslim Madrasa in Ista village under the upazila, a police team led by Additional Superintendent of Police (C-Circle) Gulam Rabbani Sheikh conducted a drive there last night and arrested the duo, said Tushar Kumar Mondal, officer-in-charge of Jashore Sadar Police Station.

The law enforcers also recovered a laptop, leaflets, and some books from the possession of the arrestees, the OC claimed.

A case has been filed against them in this connection with Jhikargachha Police Station, the police official added.
