Finance Minister AMA Muhith today expressed resentment over scrapping of the 16th constitutional amendment by the higher court.

He said the amendment that empowered parliament to impeach judges, will be passed in parliament again.

“Yes, we will pass the constitutional [16th] amendment in parliament again and we will do it continuously,” he told reporters after a programme at Sylhet Medical College.

“Let’s see how far judiciary can go. I think judiciary’s position is untenable. Will they interfere on people’s representatives? We appoint them,” he said.

The senior minister even commented that the 16th amendment will be passed in the House if the court scraps it again.
