Govt takes anti-environmental projects to stay in power: Fakhrul
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today alleged that the government has taken many anti-environmental projects just to stay in power.
He also alleged that the government has been taking anti-environment projects one after another for corruption and to protect their interests and destroying the environment.
“This government is a threat to the environment,” he said while addressing a seminar on the occasion of World Environment Day organised by the BNP at Institution of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) in Dhaka.
BNP’s vice chairman Abdullah Al Noman chaired the seminar and senior journalist Mahfuzullah presented the keynote paper.
Fakhrul said the incumbent government has spoiled the environment and make the country unlivable for the people.
“This government has also destroyed the political atmosphere,” he said.
The BNP leader said all aspects of environment including environment of freedom of expression, political environment is against of common people.
“Government is destroying the environment in a planned way. This government is an obstacle to the environment. To protect the environment there is no alternative of ousting the immoral government.”
Fakhrul said all have to be united and to wage a resistance to protect the environment and have to oust the anti-environment government to save the country.
