‘Govt to launch justice audit system to reduce case backlog’
Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the government will launch a justice audit system soon in order to reduce the huge backlog of pending cases at the courts across the country.
“We would know the nature and positions of the cases through the justice audit system and then we can take necessary steps for their quick disposal. We will have much progress after the justice audit system is launched,” he said.
The minister made the comments at a meeting with a twelve-member delegation of Advocate Forum Child Parliament of the National Children’s Taskforce, a children organisation at the national level, at the conference room of the law ministry.
Minister Anisul Huq said the government has been working with importance to dispose of the cases involving juvenile crimes.
The prosecutors have been ordered to take necessary steps to settle the juvenile crimes related cases, he said, adding that some sensational killing cases including those for killing children Rajon and Rakib have been speedily settled due to effective steps taken by the government.
The law minister said repression on children has come down due to quick disposal of Rakib and Rajon killing cases.
Law ministry Secretaries Mohammad Shahidul Haque and ASSM Zahirul Haque Dulal and its Joint Secretary Habibur Rahman were also present at the meeting.
