‘Govt wants to weaken Khaleda psychologically’
The government wants to psychologically weaken BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today.
For political vengeance, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been kept in a dark prison cell to make her psychologically weak, he said in a programme near Jatiya Press Club.
Khaleda is not even getting the minimum facilities at the prison, he complained.
BNP is yet to get the certified copy of the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case verdict, although the authorities are entitled to provide it within five days, Fakhrul claimed.
"In fear of losing in the next general election, she (Khaleda) has been sent to prison in a false case. We have to unite to free her and to restore democracy through a free and fair election," Fakhrul added.
Fakhrul was speaking at a gathering organised by BNP's women wing Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal.
