Polls time alliance: Have to wait to hear from Ershad, says Quader
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said they have to wait to hear the final decision from chief of Jatiya Party whether his party will take part in next general election with AL.
“JP Chairman Ershad might say that he has won Rangpur election but we will have to wait some time to hear the last words from him about the next general election. The time for his last words has not come yet,” he said.
Obaidul Quader, also road transport and bridges minister, came up with the remarks while talking to reporters at Paduar Bazar in Comilla Sadar upazila. Quader was travelling to Noakhali from Dhaka.
In 2008, Jatiya Party first took part in the ninth general election in coalition of Awami League, but later, the party came to the 10th parliamentary election in 2014 without alliance.

Some analysts said that JP might join the next general election joining again in an alliance with AL if BNP takes part in it.
Replying to a question, the minister said it is not new that BNP leaders and activists fight with each other whenever Khaleda Zia goes to the court.
The party provoked police by throwing brick chips to initiate a clash, said Quader, adding that actually they failed to create any issue to make a movement.
