Khaleda taken to hospital forcibly: Rizvi
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been harassed both mentally and physically in the name of treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), party's Senior Joint Secretary General Rizvi Ahmed alleged today.
"Khaleda Zia was forcibly taken to the hospital in an unprepared condition. A drama was staged in the name of treatment and she was traumatised mentally and physically," Rizvi this afternoon.
Khaleda, who was sentenced to five years imprisonment in a graft case on February 8, was taken to the hospital from old central jail in Dhaka earlier in the day. After completion of her all necessary check-ups at the hospital, Khaleda Zia was taken to the prison around 1:30pm.
Claiming that Khaleda Zia is not in good health in the jail, Rizvi said, "We have information that some seven to eight people entered her room in the prison and forced her to get prepared hurriedly."
Khaleda Zia was not given any treatment at the hospital indeed. Even, she was denied of medical advice from her personal physician, Rizvi came up with the allegation while addressing a press conference at the party's Nayapaltan central office.
Khaleda Zia was taken from one place to another in the hospital deliberately intending to harass her in the name of treatment, the BNP leader said.
He also slammed the government for deploying a huge number of law enforcers centering the issue and said a scuffling and disrespectful situation took place on the hospital premise due to “unfair attitudes” of the law enforcers.
