Khaleda’s imprisonment makes no reaction among people: Quader
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the imprisonment of Begum Khaleda Zia in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case has made no reaction among the people that is why the party is now complaining over the issues to foreigners.
“If we make any injustice to anybody, he or she should complain to our country people. All parties should do this. But BNP makes complains to foreigners,” he told a function at Chouhat of Dhamrai upazila in Dhaka after inaugurating a newly constructed bridge on Bangshi river.
Local lawmaker MA Malek and former lawmaker and Dhaka district Awami League President Benjir Ahmed were present on the occasion, among others.
The minister also formally inaugurated newly constructed Balia-Warsi-Mirzapur road in Savar.
The 216-meter Bangshi bridge has been built at a cost of around Taka 17.5 crore while the construction cost of the 3-kilometer road is around Taka 9 crore. Besides, acquisition of around 5.5 hectare of land costs around Taka 13.5 crore.
