BNP Ex-MP, 8 others held in Kushtia

Police arrested nine BNP leaders and activists including its president and secretary of Kushtia district unit when they went to the memorial situated on DC Court Chattar to pay homage to the martyrs on the occasion of the 49th Independence and National Day.

BNP district unit president and former BNP lawmaker Syed Mehdi Ahmed Roomy, secretary of the unit Shohrab Uddin and seven others were arrested around 11:40am, our Kushtia correspondent reports.

They were arrested in connection with different cases filed against them on different time, Tanvir Arafat, superintendent of police in Kushtia, told the correspondent.
