BNP attacked own motorcade to make big news: Quader
Yesterday’s attack on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s convoy was planned by them to make “big news”, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader alleged today.
“BNP chairperson could have chosen to fly by air, instead she decided to travel by road, maybe to show Awami League the public support for them. But when they realised that was not so, they planned the attack,” Obaidul said at a briefing at the Secretariat.
The minister also questioned, “Why would Awami League attack journalists’ cars?”
The convoy of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, heading towards Cox's Bazar for her visit to Rohingya refugee camps, came under attack at Mohammad Ali Bazar near Feni district town yesterday.
At least 45 people were injured and some 30 vehicles damaged in the incident.
