BNP going out of Fakhrul’s control: Obaidul
Awami League General Secretary ObaidulQuader today said, BNP leaders are going beyond the control of their General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
The situation inside BNP is a mess, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting the Awami League leader, who spoke at the party’s Dhanmondi office this afternoon.
Obaidul, also road transport and bridges minister, said: “BNP leaders could not file nominations due to their personal reasons. It is their internal matter”.
“As far as I know, two BNP leaders did not file nominations as they did not get the party ticket from their desired constituency. Mirza Abbas could not submit his nomination in due time. So, the election commission did not accept his nomination,” he said.
BNP cannot bring foul allegations, the daily quoted Obaidul as saying.
“We want a competitive election. We don’t want to contest election alone,” he said adding “Without Jamaat-e-Islami, BNP is not active”.
