BNP’s protest Sunday on JCD leader’s death in jail custody
BNP to hold rallies Sunday protesting the death of the vice-president of JCD’s Dhaka city (north) unit Jakir Hossain Milon in jail custody.
The party will hold protest rallies throughout the country in all upazila and district headquarters, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said at a press briefing at the party’s Nayapaltan office in Dhaka this morning.
On the day of protest, the leaders and activists of the party will wear black badges on their chest, the BNP leader said.
Jakir, 38, a vice-president of Dhaka city (north) unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, was declared dead Monday morning after prison guards rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Jakir was sent to the jail on Sunday afternoon after the completion of his three-day remand at the detective branch (DB) of police. He was arrested on March 6 from a programme of BNP at the capital's Jatiya Press Club.
