Force Myanmar to take back Rohingyas: BNP
BNP today called out to the government to force Myanmar to take back the Rohingya refugees who have taken refuge in Bangladesh because of persecution there.
“They (Rohingya) are human beings. It is irrelevant whether they are Muslim or Hindu,” said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at a programme.
“Myanmar government has announced war against the humanity and that has to be stopped,” Fakhrul said in a human chain in front of the National Press Club this noon.
The BNP leader also called upon the government to come up with effective diplomatic moves to compel Myanmar to take back the Rohingya refugees.
“It is at the same time will have to come up with an effective diplomatic move so that the Myanmar government is forced to take back the Rohingya people from our country,” he added.
He also criticised the government as it did nothing when Myanmar helicopters violated Bangladesh's airspace near Ukhia and said: “Such silent role indicates the government’s submissive foreign policies.”
